Note

While learning the network topology, the switch temporarily does not participate in

network communication.

Enabling RSTP with Web-based Management

Activate Web-based management for the switches by using the Factory Manager to switch

to the General Conguration menu, then the User Interfaces page. Activate the (Rapid)

Spanning Tree function under Redundancy and conrm by entering your password.

The previously created conﬁguration is lost if “No redundancy” is selected in the

WBM menu following RSTP conﬁguration.

Now switch to the RSTP General menu. Here you will nd various information about the

Spanning Tree conguration (see Figure 6.3).
